  • I was one of eight (8) MBA students nationally selected to participate in the 1993 BFJ internship program. Students were from Harvard, Stanford, Duke, Columbia, etc.
  • Completed the advertising and communication services training programs in the Marketing, Creative, and Sales Promotions divisions of Dentsu, Inc.
  • Contributed ideas for Nike's Asia Market Tour Campaign.
  • Assisted in conducting four consumer focus groups for the Nestle's Campaign.
  • Gathered data for a comparison report of Japanese consumers' attitudes towards Japanese, European, and American goods.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Foreign Languages - Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Japanese as well as knowledgeable about the culture and business practices. Basic-level skills in French, German, and Latin.
Web Development - Photoshop 6.0, Illustrator 9.0, QuarkXpress 4.0, Flash 5.0, Dreamweaver 4.0, and html coding.
Computer Software - MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Visio, WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, Quattro Pro, and Minitab.
Sales Training - Mastered sales training techniques including SPIN, Rogen, and Khalsa. Developed and taught a "Prospecting 101" class in the Fall of 2000 that was rolled out to sales and client delivery organizations.
Fundraising - In August of 2001, underwent an interview process, and was selected as one of 22 "Bachelors/Bachelorettes" in Chicago to put together a "Dream Date" package benefiting the Starlight Children's Foundation's 11th Annual Dream Date Auction. Spent the next 6 months contacting potential corporate donors (such as the President of Concord Records, hotel owners, airlines, etc). The corporate donations I raised resulted in a date package that drew a winning bid of $6,600, the second highest of the evening -- with all the proceeds going to the Starlight Kids and Make-A-Wish.
TRAVEL EXPERIENCE:
Summer 1993 Japan - As an M.B.A. intern, worked at Dentsu Inc. and traveled extensively throughout Japan, touring points of interest as well as visiting major Japanese corporations, through scheduled field trips.
8/88-6/89 Japan and Korea - As an undergraduate exchange student, visited Seoul, Korea and the Japanese cities of Tokyo, Yokohama, Nikko, Kamakura, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Saga.
6/87-8/87 Europe - As a tourist, spent a summer backpacking through Ireland, Wales, England, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, Austria, East and West Berlin, Germany, Italy, and Greece.
